48 Hour/2 Day Training Ride

Yesterday wass a rest day, no bike, no run and plenty to eat to load up for the 48 hour which starts Thurs (tomm) at 8am and will end about 9am on Sat, the 24th….48 hour notice2     The U Stream link for the live stream of the ride is: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/hoods-48-hour-2-day-ride   All is in place…the venue will be warm with operating temps in the mid 80’s….training in the heat is good and the crew has plenty of fluid fuel to keep me hydrated, much like we did on the 36.   Other updates, my youngest Andy landed in CO this morning to participate in a running camp in Boulder on the campus of Colo State.  Brandon successfully registered at Western last week and the trip to Macomb, IL was a nice break.   Bobby B is at the Scout Jamboree in Fort AP Hill, VA and will share the stream w/his fellow scouts once we go live tomm morning at which time Bobby will celebrate his 18th birthday!

Had several early morning starts at the club this week taking on additional clients at the 4am slot, which means a 3am wakeup for me.  I’ve learned from Chris to embrace the 3-7am time period as the best time of day!  Its getting easier to do so with having to train clients so early in the morning, which seems to come a bit quicker now when I’m on the bike during the long rides.  Rested early last night and plan on getting to the venue early now to prep for the 8am start.

Hope to have blog updates throughout the ride and I’m gonna want to pay attention to AHR and calories especially with the heat being a possible factor…..looking forward to that 3-7am time period Friday and Sat morning and I’ll be at the Egg for breakfast!   Thanks to all who continue to support me in my endeavors and to the crew who will ensure my success on the 48.  Have a good rest of the week!
