In a few days, i’ll be putting forth some additional details regarding the upcoming April event and how events of late have inspired me and my crew of supporters to harbor a refreshed recommitment to the success of the April event.  My confidence in so many who operate around me while I try and stay focused on training is taking hold now and I’ll  be pleased to share with you some of our prospective ideas with regard to just how the remaining long rides will go down and how the final phase of this campaign will be launched on April 11th.  Its my dream to succeed here and raise money so desperately needed to bring awareness to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and the countless Marines injured in battles in far off places and the youth programs of the Fox Valley United Way, including the Boy Scouts of America, who i’m reminded of each and every day by my good friend Bob Bachar who trains w/me and whose leadership potential far exceeds that which might otherwise be expected of a 17 yr old kid….but he keeps me grounded as do so many others…T, John Wu, Mike L, Leroy, Alvin, Faith, Mark, Pat, Marcia, Jim R, Jim J and so many many others, and they know who they are….many of whom I’ve met at the healthplex!

Today was a great day in that I picked up the official event bike, a brand new LeMond Revmaster, from my good friends at Chicago Home Fitness, the store right on 59 there.  If your ever in there, please thank store manager Mike for his generosity in facilitating the donation of the new bike.  Now Mark can put it together :)     I was also informed by good friend Paul LaTour, a local freelance writer, that ESPN has contacted him regarding a story about the upcoming event.  This combined with skilled talents of Matt Barron will be the means by which we get our story told and we will!    I’m anxious now as I prep for the 36 hour ride but doing so in a bit of constructive turmoil at the moment, lots of issues swirling around all of which, when sorted and resolved soon,  will result in one of the most successful events I’ve ever had the pleasure of doing and one I’ll be proud to share with so many of you.  I’ll look forward to sharing more with you all later….wondering now if Chips needs to go out and if the boys will join me at some point this weekend…..cant wait for my tapering to start……night!  G

    G,
You always mention those around you that support you and inspire you. Well, you do just the same if not more for everyone else. So thanks for the inspiration.
I have told you this before. Good things happen to good people. Good things are coming your way!

I glad you pt put my name in front of Jim J’s because his ego is already big enough. That being said I am glad to be a part of your journey and thank you for the support you have shown in The Fitness Buddy.

George – the entropy and turmoil are no match for the grit and determination you display every day for the cause. The overwhelming inspiration surrounding the event and the mini-events leading up to it, are all that matters, and will stay with us a lifetime!!!

BTW – Jim #2 is always eager to be Jim #1; let’s keep feeding his will to hang-on and survive and list him ahead of me…as Dylan says, “The order is rapidly fadin’/ And the first one now/ Will later be last/ For the times they are a-changin”

I’m the only one with my entire name in this post. Having a short name helps. Still, I’m just behind T, and ahead of Jim and Jim.

RE: “constructive turmoil” & “swirling issues”
The bits of confidence, determination and inspiration I was lucky enough to walk away with each week I know are a mere glimpse of what you have to give to people. Something tells me there is no mountain of turmoil & issues large enough to stand in your way.
